ABOUT

The Story

Follow Fritz on his fascinating journey from homelessness all the way to the Ritz!

Fritz is the Havachin pup that didn’t fit in.

While living in a pet store, Fritz is overlooked and always left behind.

The visitors to the pet store along with Chuck the Chihuahua and Billy the Bichon relentlessly taunt Fritz. They tell Fritz that he’s not purebred, and his fur is not all one color so who would want to give him a home?

Fritz is desperate to be accepted and find what he wants most, a forever home.

As the story unfolds, Fritz encounters many adventures, and some misadventures, after he escapes the pet store and starts his journey to the Ritz!

Along the way Fritz meets many memorable characters.

The story of Fritz was inspired by a real Havachin pup!

MEET

Fritz

The real Fritz, looking up at the camera.

September 25, 2011 Fritz was born. Sadly, Fritz spent the next five months being shipped from pet store to pet store. Finally, on February 17, 2012, it happened, Fritz found his forever home!

Now, instead of fighting for his food and sleeping in a corner, Fritz enjoys homemade dinners and his favorite peanut butter treats. Fritz also loves to get tummy rubs and run around his big backyard. Fritz is especially fond of a red haired canine named Jake Kreuzer, his next door neighbor. Jake and Fritz run the fence line and share an occasional sloppy kiss! It would appear Fritz has a liking for redheads, not only is his best bud Jake a redhead, Fritz’s forever mom is a redhead too!

Donna created and wrote “Fritz Goes to the Ritz”.  She was born with a passion and love for the arts, which has fueled many of Donna’s artistic endeavors. Her mother, Margaret, also an artist, always encouraged Donna’s creativity from a small child through adulthood. Donna holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT, and also attended Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City, graduate studies. After college Donna spent time working in New York City, the city she loves, and the setting for “Fritz Goes to the Ritz”. Central Park is Donna’s happy place.

Donna hopes to impress upon readers, of all ages, the importance of humility and giving back. She enjoys, volunteering, galleries, theater and equestrian sports. Moreover, what Donna enjoys most is being the proud pet mom to Fritz, the real life Havachin pup no one wanted.

Donna and Fritz currently reside in Connecticut.
